Persian Yogurt Bowl | Labneh + Cucumbers + Rose + Za'atar + Preserved Lemon + Olive Oil

Persian Yogurt Bowl | Labneh + Cucumbers + Rose + Za'atar + Preserved Lemon + Olive Oil

To make: Spread a generous mound of labneh with the back of a spoon in a wide, shallow bowl. Sprinkle with diced cucumber (leave peels on), dried rose petals, za'atar, and curlicues of preserved lemon (or, more simply, lemon peel). Drizzle with olive oil. Serve with warm flatbread.

Notes: Barbari bread is an especially nice seeded Persian flatbread, so if you happen to live near a Persian bakery (I do), it's worth trying here. Otherwise, any flatbread (pita, naan) will work beautifully. Rose petals are available in many Middle Eastern markets near the spices, or you can order them online. I've ordered rose petals from World Spice Merchants in Seattle.
